Having experienced my own adversity in life I can relate to many of the struggles that bring people in to therapy. I understand how important it is to feel heard and understood. I also understand how sometimes your friends and family don't seem to know how to help. I believe therapy can be an important step in healing old wounds or managing overwhelming emotions from current experiences. I enjoy working with diverse populations and I celebrate each person's uniqueness.
I hold a master's degree in clinical psychology from Pacific University, as well as a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Idaho. While completing my master's degree I received clinical training at the YWCA Counseling Center under the supervision of Adrienne Wolmark Ph.D. Dr. Wolmark continues to provide supervision for me as I work towards obtaining my license. I have received training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, and Control Mastery.
While completing my bachelor's degree I worked at the women's center on campus training professionals about the importance of acceptance, as well as the coming out process for gay and lesbian folks. I also volunteered for Alternative to Violence, a nonprofit organization helping survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to music, and watching movies. I also love animals, a fact that my spoiled cat and dog take full advantage of.
